I think this book is excellent help for learning the program on your own, and as reference material. I'm happy I was able to find it on Amazon.com and in excellent condition.
I am a serious amateur and have purchased many books. This book is the best I've seen on color management and the use of the levels and shadows/highlights tools. I am not much into special effects like eliminating wrinkles in peoples faces or making family composites. What I mostly do is polish the tones and colors of my travel pictures. Plus other nice things. I highly recommend it.
This book is an excellent resource and a must have if you have Photoshop Elements 6 even if you are not a dummie.

This product as well as the one for elements 7 are poorly presented to a novice. This seems tobe prepared for a reference to assist a pro. Not usable in my estimation. dbf
